Retribution
Retribution
Formerly: The Commander
What the Party Witnessed
The Commander was the leader of the imperial soldiers who died during the events in the cave. When the party scored a critical success on their extraction attempt, the cognitive realm did something no one had anticipated: she came back.
She did not come back as herself. The process transformed her — draconic, changed in ways that are hard to describe precisely. The party watched her work through something in real time:
She began as a soldier defined by honor — duty, hierarchy, the chain of command.
What she witnessed in the cognitive realm shifted that toward justice — honor as a structure was not enough when the structure itself was being used as a weapon.
When the party identified Rayze as the one who had manipulated Sja, she arrived somewhere else entirely. Not justice as a process. Something more final. She named herself Retribution.
Then she flew off. She did not ask for company.
What She Is
She is the first of something new. There is no name yet for what the cognitive realm made her. She is still figuring it out.
What she knew when she left: she was headed north, and she had a target.
Where She Is Now
Unknown. She is out there somewhere, moving toward something. The party may encounter signs of her work before they encounter her again.
